Lion Birthday

Hello everyone, let me introduce you to the lion.... 

 And now, the lion cake!  I was asked to do this special birthday cake for a boy who was turning one, and this is his very favorite toy.  

I also sent a mini "smash" cake for the baby to tear in to.  It is his birthday after all!

Gift Box Cake

I was asked to do a cake for a work party that a friend was having.   They were celebrating a retirement and an engagement, so I decided to make a gift box cake with two separate tags, to bring the themes together.  The cake is covered with fondant, and the bow is made of gumpaste.  The 'wrapping paper' is painted on with food coloring gel.

Artist's Palette Birthday Cake

My dad recently took up painting as a hobby, so I wanted to make him an extra special artist's birthday cake that he would remember. 

Mini Birthday Cake

Sometimes, you just don't need a big birthday cake. . . I get that!  I made this cute little 4 inch round chocolate cake for a friend.  It is just perfect for a small birthday party for two... or even one!  This particular mini cake is a mocha cake with dark chocolate buttercream icing and chocolate ganache drizzled over the top.  It is a chocolate lover's dream.  Yum!!

Farmer's Birthday

This is a farm themed cake for my father in law, Kelly.  All four of the family dogs are on the cake, as well as his favorite tractor.  I am embarrassed to say that I cannot find ONE picture of my father in law on my computer...how is that even possible??  You'll just have to trust me when I say this looks just like him, in claymation form.

Rubber Ducky Baby Shower

This is a Rubber Ducky cake that I did for a baby shower.  The cake, cake pops and the matching cupcakes are mine, the other cupcakes in the front of the picture were brought by another baker.

Spring Bouquet Birthday Cake

This is a 3 tier cake that I made for a friend's 90th birthday.  The top tier is covered with gumpaste roses.  Two days before the cake was due, the party was bumped up a day, so some of the little details didn't make it on to the cake.  It still turned out cute though!

Mermaid Cake

This is a Little Mermaid cake that I made for my niece Grace, for her 6th birthday.  The icing is buttercream that is faded out to give the cake an oceanic feel.

Baby Shower Cake

This is a cake that I made for a baby shower.  They requested a periwinkle and silver cake for a baby girl.   It was a chocolate cake filled with raspberry mouse, topped with fondant and gumpaste decorations.  Congratulations Brooke and Cameron on your beautiful baby girl!
