Engaged!

I am seriously in love with these kinds of cakes!   This couple was getting engaged on a hot air balloon, so I was asked to do a cake for the celebration afterwards.  Her mom sent me pictures of the balloon as well as pictures of the couple, and this is what I came up with.  

I even used a little pearl sprinkle to make a ring on her left hand. So cute!

We have been getting a lot of requests for buttercream cakes lately, so here is a mini version of a buttercream wedding cake.  These are vanilla cakes, with raspberry cream cheese filling and buttercream icing.  The flowers are daffodils, which are made out of royal icing.  

Graduation Cake

This was Poppy Cake's very first boston cream 'pie'.  It is a vanilla cake with vanilla custard filling (YUM!) and chocolate ganache icing.  So.... Delicious!   Congratulations on your graduation Aubrie!

Golden Anniversary

Some friends of ours just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary!  I was so honored that they chose us to do the cake for their "golden" anniversary party.  This is a sour cream almond cake with raspberry cream cheese filling and buttercream frosting.  

Welder's cake

This was a cake for a gun enthusiast, who works at a metal shop.  I went for a 'blued steel' look on the outside of the cake, and just created a target and bullets for the top.
